Mirror Lake Inn spa makeover

LAKE PLACID, N.Y– The highly-acclaimed, world class Mirror Lake Inn spa in Lake Placid – This link opens in a new browser tab, has unveiled a significant redesign and update just in time for the holiday season. Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa owner Lisa Weibrecht guided the spa renovations, which were several months in the making. The resort has invested $1 million in this  Mirror Lake Inn spa makeover.

“We’ve had our eye on this project for some time, and now that it’s finished, we’re so glad we undertook this,” said Weibrecht. “Our in-house construction crew made this a reality. I believe our guests will enjoy the improvements in the size, scope and flow of the spa.”

The women’s sanctuary, in the “new” spa, now contains a quiet, comfortable area to enhance relaxation. Another section of the parlor has been re-designed to accommodate a more social environment, which includes a seating area where guests can enjoy hot and cold complimentary beverages. It also has two changing rooms instead of one, a handicap-accessible shower and eight new lockers.

The new steam room, fronted by glass, features state-of-the-art steaming technology and cold shower.

The men’s sanctuary, with all new furniture and décor, has a renovated shower and grooming area with 10 more lockers.

Guests of the Mirror Lake Inn spa, particularly couples, are able to easily access the indoor pool from both sanctuaries, where together, they may experience an oversized whirlpool, dry sauna, 60-foot lap pool and lounge chairs.

The treatment rooms have been repainted; three rooms feature paper tapestry ceilings.

“We took into consideration comments from our guests, and heard from couples that they wanted to be together,” remarked Spa Manager Annie Arnold. “The design is more spacious and comfortable, and the contemporary décor is an example of the advancements we’ve made in our new spa presentation.”

The previous iteration of the Mirror Lake Inn spa was continually ranked by TripAdvisor as the number one spa in Lake Placid. It has also garnered numerous plaudits over the years from Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure.

“After listening to guests and incorporating their comments, we believe our new spa is going to be very well received. We’re looking forward to seeing the reactions from our guests,” concluded Weibrecht.

An official unveiling event will take place in January.
