If you have an interest in the Olympic Games, especially the 1932 and 1980 Winter Games held in Lake Placid, a visit to the museum is a must. Exhibits are dedicated to the 1980 US hockey team, Eric Heiden’s unprecedented five Olympic gold medals in speed skating, snowmaking technology used in 1980, the 1924 Olympic gold medal won by a Lake Placid’s Charlie Jewtraw which was the first in the history of the Winter Games, a collection of Olympic torches and much more. The museum is located in the Olympic Center, where Olympic and hockey history was written.
