Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the application of cold to fight inflammation, reduce pain and facilitate healing.  Practitioners and athletes alike have long understood the positive benefits of applying ice to injured or stressed tissue to enhance performance and speed recovery.  Cold air cryotherapy transcends the benefits of traditional “icing” and opens up a whole new world of beauty and wellness application.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How does cryotherapy work?

Localized cryotherapy reduces pain, inflammation and swelling in targeted areas, increasing rates of healing and recovery. This modality is effective to treat arthritis, acute and chronic sports injury, localized muscle and joint pain and much more!

As opposed to general cryotherapy, which stimulates cold receptors all over the body, localized treatment isolates a particular problem area to trigger an intense anti-inflammatory response where it is needed most.  Commonly used by athletes, cryotherapy hijacks the bodies’ natural responses to stress and trauma, effectively speeding recovery and reducing pain.

While similar to traditional icing/ice baths, cold air cryotherapy penetrates deep into the tissue facilitating a lasting effect that continues work long after the treatment concludes.

How cold is the air I will be treated with?
