Fine-Dining at the View Restaurant:
We will always try to accommodate special dietary needs. Please provide us with at least 48-hours advance notice.
Breakfast: We offer dine-in and room service breakfast from 7:30am-10:30am. Please contact the restaurant at extension 141 to place your room service order.
Our Signature Blend of Complimentary Coffee is available 24-Hours a day. Coffee is available at the host stand of The View restaurant from 6:30am – 9:00pm and by request at the Front Desk outside of those hours.
Dinner: Our a la carte dinner menu includes traditional cuisine that uses ingredients sourced from regional Lake Placid farmers, as well as items from our very own vegetable and herb garden. Please dial 140 for reservations.
Hours (Reservations Recommended): 5:30pm-8:30pm (Closed Tuesday Nights)
Dress: Resort casual attire is acceptable at dinner (please no baseball caps, hooded sweatshirts, graphic t-shirts, sweatpants, or torn/faded denim, etc.). Breakfast is more casual.
Dinner Room Service: Dinner room service is available between 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Please dial Ext 141 to place your order.
The View Lounge (drinks and small bites):
Monday-Thursday: 4:00pm-10:00pm, Friday-Sunday: 2:00pm-10:30 (Beverage Service)
Monday, Wednesday-Sunday (Closed Tuesday) 5:30-8:30 (Small Bite Food Service)
Casual Dining at The Cottage Cafe:
Located directly across the street and offers casual dining and cocktails on the lakeshore. Pub fare is served from 11:00am– 9:30pm daily. Ext. 505. Please note that reservations are NOT taken at The Cottage.
*Please also note that we do not allow anyone under the age of 21 to sit at any of our bars per New York State Law
Newspapers:
Complimentary copies of the “New York Times Digest” are available upon request at the Front Desk.
Cell Phones:
Please…to maintain the peaceful ambiance that everyone has come to expect at the Inn, we do not allow talking on cell phones in common areas.
Pets:
Dogs are allowed only in specific dog friendly accommodations. Please contact the Front Desk for more information. – (Fees do Apply) – There is a $300.00 per day charge for a non-acceptable pet, or if damage from a pet is found. You will also be responsible for any compensation that we are forced to provide other guests resulting from any disturbance caused by your pet.
Car Alarms:
When staying at the Mirror Lake Inn, if you choose to activate your car alarm and it goes off and interrupts another guest, you will be responsible for any compensation provided to the effected guest(s).
Smoking:
We are a completely non-smoking facility. Not only will you be charged a cleaning fee of $300 per day, but if your smoking disturbs another guest (it usually does), we will feel obligated to compensate the offended parties usually by refunding or reducing their room rate. You will be responsible for these expenses. If you continue to smoke, we may ask you to leave the hotel and you will be charged for the remaining nights of your reservation. Also, New York State Law prohibits smoking in any facility open to the public. Vaping, as well as the burning of incense and/or candles are also prohibited and subject to the fees above.
Spa Services:
Massages, Facials, Body Treatments, Salt Room Sessions, as well as Hair and Nail services are available daily between 9:00am – 4:00pm Sunday& Monday, 9:00am-6:00pm Tuesday-Thursday and between 8:00am – 6:00pm on Friday & Saturday. Please contact the Spa directly at Ext. 610 to make an appointment. The Spa has a 24-hour Cancellation Policy.
Gift Shop:
Snacks, bathing suits, shirts, sweatshirts, cards, Mirror Lake Inn signature items and travel amenities are available in our gift shop The Peak Boutique located adjacent to the Spa Desk on the lower level of the Main House. The Peak Boutique is open between 9:00am – 4:00pm Sunday& Monday, 9:00am-6:00pm Tuesday-Thursday and between 8:00am – 6:00pm on Friday & Saturday.
The Fitness Center
Located on the lower level of the main house and is open daily between 5:30am – 10:00pm daily.
Pool Facilities:
Indoor Pool is located on the lower level of the Main Building. Hours are 8:00am-10:00pm and include a 60’ indoor lap pool, and whirlpool.
Your safety is important to us! The swimming facilities at The Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa are not supervised by a lifeguard or other responsible person.
In the interest of your safety and that of our guests, we require you to follow these rules established by New York State law.
- Please read the safety rules located at the entrance to the pool and beach.
- NEVER SWIM ALONE.
A minimum of two adults 18 years or older must be present whenever this swimming facility is in use with at least one adult on the pool deck or beachfront.
- THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR ADEQUATE SUPERVISION.
If your Child is not completely potty trained, they MUST wear a swim diaper at all times when in the Pool. No Exceptions! *Swim Diapers available at our Gift Shop
NYS Law requires all guests to sign in before using the pool, sauna, and whirlpool – any bathing/swimming facility. By law, children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, at all times, while using these facilities.
USE OF THE BATHING FACILITY IS RESTRICTED TO MIRROR LAKE INN GUESTS ONLY!
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied in the bathing facility by a parent or guardian, or an adult who is responsible for the children and their behavior.
In an Emergency, use the emergency phone near the entrance to the pool area. Hotel staff will contact emergency help immediately.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Only use this facility during posted hours of operation.
According to the NYS Department of Health neither the use of alcohol nor glass containers are permitted when swimming or in our beach/pool areas.
Injuries can be prevented, and safety is everyone’s responsibility. If you notice any problems with the water quality or absence of safety equipment, please notify us at once.

Children (Young Ladies and Gentlemen):
Lisa and I are the proud parents of five children and nine grandchildren. We have traveled extensively with them and feel it is appropriate to stay any place we desire with them. However, we also feel it is our clear responsibility to prohibit them and their activities from interfering with the ambiance and experience of other guests. Although we consider the Mirror Lake Inn to be extremely family friendly, we would expect, and we require no less from families that visit us than we provided when we were visitors. Children are young ladies and gentlemen who need guidance and supervision for their safety and comfort and the safety and comfort of others.
The View Restaurant: If you feel confident that your children are well behaved for our dining room, we certainly welcome you at any time convenient to you.
Please note: For your convenience and comfort, when dining in The View with children, we will seat you in an area less apt to disturb others in case your children become “fussy” or fidgety. Please, children in the dining room must stay seated for their safety and the safety of others.
The Cottage Café: Located across the street on the lakeshore, the Cottage Café offers casual and informal dining well suited for families. The Cottage serves daily from 11:00am – 9:30pm. Reservations are not taken; seating is on a first come basis.
*Please note that under N.Y. State Law we cannot allow anyone under the age of 21 to sit at the bar in any of our restaurants.
