Dog friendly Mirror Lake Inn

Lake Placid – The AAA Four Diamond Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa appeals not only to upscale travelers, but in recent years, to their dogs as well.

The 100-year-old dog friendly Lake Placid resort features 122 units all facing Mirror Lake and the Adirondack Peaks. Nearly one-third of our lodging units – 40 to be exact – accept dogs, so the next time you visit, please remember to bring your furry family member with you to enjoy the fresh air and pristine lakes and streams here in Upstate New York.

Many residents and visitors walk their dogs on Main Street and around Mirror Lake

Dogs love the Adirondacks. They accompany their families on hikes in our woods winter and summer; they can find nearby swimming holes where dogs and their parents can chill out on a warm summer’s day; enjoy walks around Mirror Lake all year round.

In the wintertime, dogs enjoy a brisk jog on frozen Mirror Lake and admire the work of two crews of sled dogs. Unfortunately, the ride vendors do not offer auditions.

Main Street Lake Placid is also a key meeting spot for these pets, primarily due to all the restaurants. And you know dogs love restaurants. In addition, owners will notice water bowls near several storefronts.

At the Mirror Lake Inn, among the doggie rules and regs, your pet must have all their shots, be crated if left alone and always be leashed when outside the room. Dogs are not allowed in common areas of the resort.

Your dog will reside at the Mirror Lake Inn at the special rate of $50 per night (plus tax) in addition to their owner’s room rate. There are no dog blackout dates!

You may review the remainder of the stipulations with our onsite reservations team at the time of booking.

Many employees of our resort are dog owners themselves and enjoy hosting and welcoming them with their families, so if you’re planning a retreat to our time-honored property, there’s no need to arrange for boarding at home.

We want to see you and your dog having fun in our great outdoors and resting their heads each night at the Mirror Lake Inn.
