A Guided Visit to the Old Section of North Elba Cemetery
On Saturday, October 8th at 10am, Historian Cheryl Craft from the John Brown Farm will offer a tour at
the North Elba cemetery.
This will be a guided tour of the old section to the cemetery located North of the John Brown State
Historic site on Old Military Road. Several of Browns relatives and members of the African American
Settlement at Timbucto are interred as well as veterans of the Civil War. The History of those interred,
their monuments, and their relation to Browns antislavery movement, will be discussed.
The group will meet at the cemetery on Old Military Rd, opposite the John Brown Rd. The section visited
is on the front left side of the cemetery.
