Race Day Info
Here’s everything you need to know to run your best and Get Your Gold in this year’s Lake Placid Marathon & Half.
This year, packet pickup (bib, shirt, sponsor gifts) will be from 1-6pm on Saturday next to the Lake Placid Public Beach House on Parkside Dr. We will have a tent set up outside. Packet pickup will also be available on race day from 6-7:30am, but we highly encourage you to get yours on Saturday since race day can be hectic. In line with local guidelines, we will be checking for proof of vaccination or testing. We also highly encourage masks to keep everyone safe.
Because of construction at the historic Olympic Oval this year, the race will start at the same place you picked up your packet on Parkside Dr. The finish will be at Jewtraw Park on Station Street near Lisa G’s. For those of you who really loved the ¼ mile hill before finish, we promise we’ll bring it back next year. Awards and Food
As always there will be five age groups with 3 awards in each category, and all participants will receive a finisher medal. To keep everyone safe this year, awards will be a grab-go type of system rather than a formal ceremony. This is to help reduce crowding and keep everyone safe. Food will be available at the tent at finish. When you’re done, head over to the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery – This external link opens in a new browser tab. for your very own LP 26.2 Ale. First one is on them with your mug and bib!
The Village of Lake Placid, the Town of North Elba and ROOST set forth new requirements for hosting events this summer, including the requirement to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of arrival in designated athlete-only areas in order to participate in the event. We will be checking these at registration. Please visit our Lake Placid Marathon website – This external link opens in a new browser tab. for the full vaccination requirements.
We encourage runners to park in the North Elba Historical Society/Train Station parking lot near the finish line on Station street. There will NOT be a shuttle to the start but you can get a decent warmup by walking up the famed hill. Of course, you can park anywhere it is legally allowed.
