The Boat:
BLU North is a C&C Landfall 38 cruising sailboat that is 38 feet long.It is made for leisurely exploration that puts comfort first and speed a close second. S/V BLU NORTH is fully equipped above and below deck, you’ll find a bathroom [head], a galley, salon, and two main cabins. BLU North offers ample room for our guest to spread out and enjoy a comfortable sailing experience.
Built in 1982 at Niagara on the Lake, Canada, then named Oasis, she was considered the best built and appointed cruiser in its class. Prior to David and Jodie’s ownership, Oasis sailed the Caribbean for some 15 years and across the Caribbean Sea to Venezuela. Afterwards sailing back into US waters and returning to Lake Champlain.
S/V Blu North is United States Coast Guard documented, No. 1272334 with a coastwise endorsement.
The Crew:
Captain David & First Mate Jodie are excited to share their love of being out on the water with you. They have been exploring the waterways of New York for decades. Many years ago , they would tow their 16ft. Hobie Cat up to the St. Lawrence River and spend their days sailing and nights camping out under the stars. Boats have always been a part of their family and they’ve been sailing Lake Champlain for six years aboard Blu North.
David is a certified USCG Captain. completing the requirements for an OUPV SIX PACK CHARTER David was issued a Merchant Mariners Credential as per other requirements. Frist Aid, CPR, Drug Testing and an operator’s physical have been met.
